The Alpha Theta Network was established in 2006 under the umbrella of the Tennessee State University National Alumni Association (TSUNAA) in an effort to stay connected to the undergraduate chapter and help provide guidance to its current members by building bridges between undergrads and former members of the chapter across every field of human endeavor by ensuring that they stay focus on their educational goals.
This milestone celebration honors the rich legacy of the chapter, recognizing the vision and perseverance of its early members while paying tribute to the countless achievements of those who are currently moving the coat of arms forward. From scholarship and civic engagement to professional success and brotherhood, ΑΘ continues to embody the fundamental purpose and ideals of Kappa Alpha Psi at Tennessee State University. 95 Years of Achievement
A walk through the milestones, the men, and the movements that have defined the Alpha Theta Chapter since 1931.
1931
On May 23, 1931, the Alpha Theta Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. is chartered at Tennessee A&I State College, planting the coat of arms in Nashville soil.
1940s
Through the Second World War, Alpha Theta men serve their country abroad while sustaining the chapter at home — proving achievement in every field of human endeavor.
1950s–60s
Brothers of Alpha Theta stand on the front lines of the Civil Rights Movement in Nashville, leading sit-ins, marches, and campus organizing alongside the broader TSU community.
1970s
The chapter cements its reputation for academic excellence and campus leadership, producing student government leaders, scholars, and Guide Right mentors across Middle Tennessee.
1980s–90s
Decades of Guide Right, Kappa League, and community service programs transform the lives of young men across Nashville's middle and high schools.
2006
Under the umbrella of the TSU National Alumni Association, the Alpha Theta Network is established to bridge undergraduate and alumni brothers across every field of endeavor.
2015
The Network formalizes the Alpha Theta Scholarship Endowment, committing to fund the next generation of TSU Kappa men in perpetuity.
2020
Alpha Theta marks 90 years of achievement during a global pandemic — adapting, mentoring virtually, and continuing to support the undergraduate chapter without missing a beat.
2025
The Alpha Theta Network gathers in Nashville to celebrate 95 years of the chapter, honor its living legacy, and invest in the next generation of scholarship recipients.

Investing In The Next Generation
Established by the brothers of Alpha Theta, the Endowment is a permanent fund that awards scholarships to deserving Tennessee State University students each academic year. Built to last, it ensures that the Achievement of our chapter translates directly into opportunity for the students who follow.
Annual scholarships are paid directly toward tuition, fees, and books for TSU students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and financial need.
Contributions are invested as a permanent endowment. The principal remains intact while annual investment earnings fund the scholarships — year after year, generation after generation.
Recipients are connected to the Alpha Theta Network of alumni for mentorship, internships, and professional access — extending the impact of every dollar far beyond financial aid.
Because the 95th Anniversary Celebration is underwritten by The ΑΘ Network, every dollar from ticket sales, tables, and contributions flows directly into the Scholarship Endowment — funding the dreams of TSU students and securing the Achievement of Alpha Theta for the next 95 years.
